For those not familiar with the term, according to Wikipedia, Emacs can be defined as:

"[.] a class of feature-rich text editors, usually characterized by their extensibility. Emacs has, perhaps, more editing commands than other editors, numbering over 1,000 commands. It also allows the user to combine these commands into macros to automate work.

Development began in the mid-1970s and continues actively as of 2010[update]. Emacs text editors are most popular with technically proficient computer users and computer programmers. The most popular version of Emacs is GNU Emacs, a part of the GNU project, which is commonly referred to simply as 'Emacs'."

Did you know that we support Emacs emulation?  We do!  If you are using Visual Studio 2010 you need to install the Emacs extension that can be found here:

After that, for both Visual Studio 2008 and 2010 just go to Tools -> Options -> Environment -> Keyboard and choose Emacs from the "Apply the following additional keyboard mapping scheme" drop-down list:

Is that a "..Just wait.." smile, or a "Not a chance!" smile?

That's a "probably gonna be an extension" smile.  I think we are mostly depending on extensions for this stuff now as the model is so easy to use it doesn't take much effort for a third party to create it.
