Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Bill Heys

Who you are?

I am currently a Principal with Design Process and Solutions (www.designprocess.co).

What makes you “tick”?

At work, I focus on all aspects of software development including application architecture and design, as well as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban processes. Outside of work, I enjoy international travel, which has deepened my understanding and appreciation of history and has provided wonderful opportunities for photography. At home, I spend significant time with genealogy, researching my family history. But mostly what makes me tick is a Timex watch I swallowed as a young child. It took a licking and keeps on ticking.

Where you live?

Franklin, MA (Parts of family have been in the Greater Boston area for over 390 years. One direct ancestor actually travelled from England to Plymouth, MA on the Mayflower)

Where is the place you call home?

Franklin, MA. Fortunately I am still permitted to live at home.

Why are you active in the Rangers program?

Participating in the Rangers program has enabled me to work with and learn from other passionate VS ALM Rangers. I try to remain active so I don’t get kicked off the team the next time the list is scrubbed.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?

My best (and primary) ranger project has been working as a contributor to the Ranger Branching Guidance II and as lead for Ranger Branching Guidance 2010. During 2012 and 2013 I was not able to participate on any Rangers projects due to a medical condition. This year (2014) I am, once again, more active.
