Forefront Protection Server Management Console (FPSMC) 2010
Last week my group released the Forefront Protection Server Management Console. The release was the culmination of a lot of work by the feature team (dev, test, program management), the documentation team, the localization team, and the marketing folks. The console is built to help enterprises manage instances of Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server and Forefront Protection 2010 for SharePoint. Here is the description:
Microsoft Forefront Protection Server Management Console (FPSMC) 2010 provides multi-server management for Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server and Forefront Protection 2010 for SharePoint. FPSMC delivers an easy to use graphical interface for server discovery, configuration deployment, reporting, quarantine management, engine and definition update deployment, and integration with Forefront Online Protection for Exchange.
Personally, I've been working pretty hard for the last few weeks with the feature team to get the Forefront Protection Server Management Console help content finalized and published on the TechNet Library. We also posted a few videos, including FPSMC How-to: Installation in a standalone server scenario. I'm happy to see the product released and to enjoy a little downtime during the holidays.

I am testing the FPSMC 2010 in my Development Lab for Exchange 2010 SP1, RU2. _ As per KB, technet.microsoft.com/.../gg507706.aspx, the "Console Access" requires "Enterprise Admin". Can you please elaborate why this permission is required? _I am using FPSMC 2010 in an "Stand-alone" configuration. The deployment jobs for FPE 2010 fails retuning "The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.", which have FPE 2010, and using an acccount with: "Local Admin, Domain Admin, and Exchange Admin" but with "Enterprise Admin" permissions. Thanks,Anonymous

I'm having problems uninstalling FPSMC. Original uninstall failed and states that it has to be manually unistalled. Can you list the registry keys and files you have to remove?Anonymous

Do you have any ideas on why it failed? Try to give me some more details, and in the meantime I will look into it. Tony
