Check that! How to insert a symbol

I wanted to include a check mark on my to-do list for creating this new column. For a minute, I thought it would be hard, but then I stumbled across the Insert-Symbol feature in Word. This feature is also available in PowerPoint, Excel, and other Office programs. (Now I can go check off the item that says "Write the tip about symbols!")

    I use these all the time! Symbols help quite a bit in making things stand out in a report. Accountant like to tick & tie and symbols are one way we can do so electronically.
