Microsoft Debuts as "Visionary" in Gartner Testing (ISQS) Magic Quadrant
Microsoft has earned “Visionary” rating in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Integrated Software Quality Suites. Gartner’s ISQS MQ focuses on testing capabilities, and our initial foray into this space (and Magic Quadrant) with Visual Studio 2010 surpassed Gartner’s rating of Oracle on the “ability to execute” axis! Specifically, Microsoft’s debut performance in the ISQS earned strong reviews, surpassing 40 percent (6/15) of evaluated vendors on the “ability to execute” axis and 73 percent (11/15) of evaluated vendors on the “completeness of vision” axis.
Gartner’s evaluation clearly establishes Microsoft as a key enterprise player in the areas of test management, functional testing, and load/stress automation. Gartner credits Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2010 offering for its tight integration with Team Foundation Server, ease of use, price, while complementing our test lab management, and manual test data collection and integration to defect management capabilities. Gartner concludes, “A key element in Microsoft’s approach is strong integration between developers and testers, to enable more-efficient delivery cycles.”
