Where to find information on System Center Essentials
I've been asked recently what documentation and other information is available for System Center Essentials 2007. Accordingly, I have pulled together a short list of some good places to look for information.
Of course, there are the Migration and Operations Guides:
Migration Guide: https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=9A7D0A52-4380-46A8-BA80-729AE2CC8CBA&displaylang=en
Operations Guide: https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=DBF51282-1784-4B9F-ABD1-E2B5CB12F1A8&displaylang=en
The online Help that is installed with Essentials has an awful lot of information and can be browsed online in the System Center Essentials TechCenter Library (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb422837.aspx).
There are also white papers on the Download Center (the same place you can download the Operations Guide) such as Managing Critical Applications and Infrastructure with System Center Essentials 2007 (https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=F316756D-0B1D-4F5B-95B3-829FA28FCAE9&displaylang=en).
The System Center Essentials TechCenter Community (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sce/bb677155.aspx) page includes links to user forums, Knowledge Base articles, community forums, and the following blogs:
Essentials 2007 Wiki site (https://sce.editme.com/)
Tips & Tricks Blog (by Casey McKinnon, Microsoft) (https://blogs.technet.com/caseymck)
Managed Services Blog (by Dustin Jones, Microsoft) (https://blogs.technet.com/dustinj)
We are planning other content to add to our site but do not have an announcement at this time. Please feel free to ask more questions about documentation. Happy Holidays!
