The Microsoft Silverlight Analytics Framework at Mix

I’m excited to share with you that I’ll be talking about a new framework for web analytics in Silverlight at our Mix conference in Las Vegas next week.  Seven months ago I blogged about building a new analytics framework for Silverlight and now we’re about to release it next week on CodePlex as free open-source framework.  The process over these past seven months has been to reach out to as many of the analytics vendors and control vendors as we could and build an inclusive framework that supports all different types of analytics that are relevant to application designers and developers.  Here are the high-level goals of the framework:

  • Support out-of-browser scenarios
  • Support offline scenarios
  • Support multiple analytics services simultaneously without impacting performance
  • Support designers in Microsoft Expression Blend to instrument applications without coding
  • Support A/B Testing
  • Support SketchFlow Prototypes
  • Support logging of video experiences with the Microsoft Silverlight Media Framework

The session will be on Monday 3/15/2010 at 2:00 PM at our Mix Conference in Las Vegas – it will be recorded and put up on the Mix site soon after so if you can’t make it, you can still learn about it.  Stay tuned, this is exciting.

Can't wait to get my hands on it. I love the way you create software that integrates perfectly in existing ecosystems and pushes the art of software design forward.

Glad to hear it's FOSS. Which license(s)? Presumably it must run on Moonlight, not just proprietary Silverlight?
