Announcing SQL Server Management Studio - August 2015 Release
Today, we announce the latest preview of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). It is the third release in our fast-train preview program. This release includes all updates included in the July release and features support for Windows 10 installations and numerous bug fixes.

* The version number for the latest preview of SSMS is 13.0.500.53
New in this release:
1. Updates to the object explorer to reduce the loading delay when there are a large number of databases hosted on a single SQL server instance.
2. Improvements for installing SSMS on Windows 10.
3. Additional bug fixes including updates to SSMS user reports UI, and SQL Server Configuration manager UI.

Have you fixed the bug whereby when I close SSMS down, it assumes it crashed and automatically restarts it?Anonymous

The bug has been on connect for years already - you folks ignore connect though: connect.microsoft.com/.../sql-server-management-studio-2012-2014-crashes-when-closingAnonymous

Works great! The bug on 8.1 where it would not install over any remnants of the July install is fixed. The Object explorer seems peppy. Connections to older dbs seems ok.Anonymous

Getting error 0x80070490 - Element not found when installing it. bug is filed to connect connect.microsoft.com/.../cannot-install-ssms-2016-sept-2015-error-0x80070490
