WinFX becomes .NET 3.0

WinFX site on MSDN "You can think of WinFX like .NET 3.0," I often said, while trying to explain how these new technologies fit into the .NET picture.

Well, now, WinFX is called .NET 3.0.  It's just a change in branding.  WinFX will still run against the 2.0 version of the CLR runtime.  It's still the same (impressive) set of technologies.  More confusing?  Less confusing?  I'm not convinced yet.

    Nice branding chage but what about ECMA .. how are other implementations of .Net (CLI actualy, wich isn't axactly the same thing) going to folow up with this ? It's just a rebranding campaign that will create a lot of confusion.

    Windows specific technologies shoul just stay out of .Net Framework even if they are based on it!

    I guess there could be some confusion but I am glad they have, if only at the brand level, merged the two. It is an obvious part of an overall developer framework. Thanks for the news.
