Cork, Dublin, Belfast Events: Visual Studio Tools for Office with team member Donald Drake
If you're located in Cork or Dublin or Belfast, and interested in how the Visual Studio Tools for the Office System (or roughly VSTO for short) allow developers to build on top of Office as a platform, then be sure to head out to the Microsoft Technologies User Group events this week.
Donald Drake, the Test Manager for Visual Studio Tools for Office, is in Ireland and will be presenting in Cork tonight (Tuesday, 7:00, Imperial Hotel), and Dublin Wednesday (7:00, Morrison Hotel), and Belfast Thursday (7:30, Wellington Park Hotel).
Don's talk will provide a roadmap of technology for Visual Studio Tools for Office, including (1) a summary of the 2005 version that supports Office 2003, (2) an introduction to "Cypress," which is the first release of the tools to support Office 2007, and (3) a preview of the features the team is working on for the next full release of Visual Studio (which is codenamed "Orcas," and I discussed previously).
Here are links to more information on the Cork event, and more information on the Dublin event, and more information about the Belfast event. If you're headed to the Dublin event, I'll see you there!
