Profili Utente in ambiente Remote Desktop Services
Segnaliamo gli spunti offerti dall’interessante post del Team Remote Desktop Services sul tema “Profili utente” in ambito Windows Server 2008 R2.
Le novità sono le seguenti:
RD farm logon performance improvement (attraverso l’utilizzo di una GP cache comune ai Server RDS che compongono la farm)
Roaming user profile cache management (nuova GP setting per limitare la dimensione totale della cache dei Roaming Profile: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Terminal Services\Terminal Server\Profiles\Limit the size of the entire roaming user profile cache. Nel caso la cache superasse il limite impostato, il Server RDS cancellerebbe i profili roaming meno recenti). A questo proposito segnaliamo anche la GP Setting “Exclude directories in roaming profile”.
- User profile hive cleanup is not needed starting with WS08 and Vista (vi ricordate l’utility UPHClean service ? A partire da 2008/Vista è già incluso il servizio User Profile Cleanup Service che svolge il medesimo lavoro).
Nel post si parla anche di Application Virtualization (App-V) riguardo il tema Application Compatibility:
- If a problematic application writes data to outside the standard profile locations or bloats the size of the profile while the AppData folder cannot be redirected, you can use Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) to deploy that application.
Ricordiamo che, in Windows Server 2008 R2, nel costo della CAL RDS è compreso l’utilizzo del Client App-V.
