Managed Service Accounts, Background Services, and Instrumentation

The modern challenges of implementing efficient Windows Services or background processes include performance, power efficiency, and security.  Windows Server 2008 R2 introduces a number of new platform features for systems and application developers including trigger-started services, local and domain "auto-managed" service accounts, service requested security privileges, scheduled task conditions, Event Tracing for Windows (ETW) integration, and others.

Learn more about these features and how to use them in your own solutions via the Windows SDK and the MSDN Library.
