What Happened to Whitehorse?

Whitehorse was the not-so-internal code name for set of designers that are part of Visual Studio 2005 Team System. For those of you that have installed the Beta 1, you've probably seen the Distributed System Designers and the Class Designer. Well, there you go, that's Whitehorse...

The Distributed System Designers breaks down into four different designers: the Application Designer, System Designer, Logical Datacenter Designer, and the Deployment Designer. These designers are meant to lead a development team from design and development through to the deployment of a project. Including determining whether an application will run on a given configuration of servers.

Here are a couple of good articles about our designers and how to use them:

Through the development cycle for this product, I've worked on several different portions of the designers, including the core design surface control that handles much of the display and user manipulation. Currently, I'm working on the Applicaiton Designer and the web service functionality it exposes.

While this is my first post in this new blog, I wanted to give you something useful because I really hate reading those hello world posts from everyone. I hope the links made this one useful... :)
