MEDC 2007: Instructor Led Labs.
We're running a number of embedded (and mobile) instructor led labs at MEDC - these labs are always popular, it's a great way for attendees to get "Hands on" with the tools/technologies, and at the same time have the developers, architects, testers that work on the technologies available to answer questions.
Here's Sue Loh running a performance lab for CE 6.0 - considering that the lab started at 8:30am and the attendee party was last night it looks like there's an amazing turn out (there's not a single empty seat in the lab room).
I'd like to see if we can take some/all of the labs delivered at MEDC and make these available on the MSDN Virtual Labs site - let me know if you would find this useful.

I would definitely find this lab useful. This is one of the key reasons I wanted to make it to MEDC 2007.Anonymous

I had the same thought: take some of these great instructor-led labs and put them on the MSDN and let users run through them virtually. If you had a dozen machines you could dedicate to this it would probably be enough. People could print up the notes beforehand and run through the labs online. This would be a great resource and there are some guys at work who I'd love to be able to have do this.Anonymous

As I understand the issues:
- Microsoft went to a great deal of expense to prepare virtual labs that deal with the MEDC technologies
- The labs presented at MEDC are always popular
- Some of them were full despite early starting times and the grueling schedules of attendees
- The attendees are a small subset of those interested in the material in the labs but unable to attend MEDC. That leaves me wondering why you would not re-purpose them by making them available on MSDN Virtual Labs? If they aren’t re-purposed didn’t a lot of people just spend an incredible amount of time and money to create virtual land-fill? I realize that there is a cost associated with re-purposing and hosting but is there anyone who could present a cogent argument that the benefit to the community and to Microsoft would not exceed such cost? Please talk to Paul Andrew, Anthony Tsim and anyone else you need to over at the Virtual Labs to get this content added to that already available while it is still fresh.

I've been waiting for the labs to be posted to CommNet just like the PowerPoints, but I can't seem to find them. Seems a little strange since one of the options at MEDC was to email the labs to ourselves. But since a lot of the labs were standing room only at MEDC, having them available in some form would be great.
