    Hi Mike, only two months, and the MEDC visits Berlin. To plan our own visit on MEDC, we want to ask you some questions. (Please recognize, that we dont get an information about that topics from the link within two weeks):
  • How long did the sessions take? We dont know what is meant with "Break Out", "Hands on Lab" and similar definitions.
  • When will be a time chart available, so we can plan our visit in more detail. Remember, we means that we are three persons. And we wont miss a session if possible. Bye Michael Jungnickl

    Hello, Conference question from a conference newbie. I don't see a general Q/A area so I'll ask it here if that's ok. Going to my first MEDC. I see a couple of the instructor led labs that I'm interested in attending. Are these sessions designed for the attendee to follow along in the coding exercises? In other words would I benefit from bringing a laptop along or are these lectures with the intent the "student" dig in once they return home. Is it pretty much pointless to drag a laptopn along just for the sessions? thanks.......

    Michael - sessions are 75 minutes, which are supposed to be 1 hour talk plus 15 minutes Q&A.  With 15-minute breaks between sessions usually.  A "Break Out" is a talk (lecture style).  An "Instructor Led Lab" is where you sit in a lab room with computers, where an instructor is walking a room full of people through lab exercises that they perform on their own computers.  A "Hands On Lab" is similar but self-paced; you pick up a handout and work on your own in a public lab room, with lab assistance walking around to help you if you get stuck.  I don't know when the official schedule will be published. Leroy, you don't need to bring your laptop because computers are provided for the labs.  (Just show up early enough so you get to sit at a computer; the labs are sometimes oversubscribed.)  They do provide wireless internet access at MEDC so if you want to get your email then you might want your laptop for that.
