Office and Vista Launch Event
As I mentioned before, the developer launch for Office and Vista is on the horizon (I've been heads-down on this - one of the reasons I've not blogged much recently). I know many of you wont be able to make it in person (either because the event was full or it's just too far to travel) but the good news is we'll be making all the content available online (including the live keynote and recordings of the sessions as well as the "hands-on" activities).
As an added incentive, we'll be giving away 1000 copies of Windows Vista Ultimate and Office Professional 2007 to online attendees. Basically, if you're one of the first 1000 people to answer correctly the Vista / Office question posed, you'll receive your free copy (some caveats apply, most notably that we'll only ship to UK addresses and the product wont be available for immediate dispatch).
So keep an eye out on the launch site for more news...

I'm unable to go into details - mainly because I haven't got any details - but rest-assured conference attendees will not go away empty-handed. :-)Anonymous

Can you clarify how to join the online event - I can't find a link on either your blog or the launch site. A time would be helpful if possible when the link will be available. ThanksAnonymous

You mention the sessions should be available for download, but the download links have been missing since late last Friday. Are the links likely to be put back up at some point? ThanksAnonymous

Hi Huw. Yes is the short answer and hopefully very soon. There were some issues with the original download files that meant that having spent a long time downloading (as a few people will testify) they would not play all the way through due to corruption. We removed them pretty sharpish to prevent people downloading only to find the file didn't work. The videos have been re-encoded and we hope to have them up again very soon (with a better hosting infrastructure). Mike
