What do I do? what do I do?
Got a request to update my Vista machine today and saw this list of available updates.
My god, what should I do? Should I check the optional update? Wonder what it is for.
I hate to gripe about my fellow colleagues over in the Vista org, but hey, not even a technical person would know what those updates are for, how are users supposed to decide whether they should update or not.
Please use more descriptive names for updates and not just show the Knowledge Base (KB) ID. Either that, or add in a hyperlink so users can click on the KB number and shows a detailed description of this update.
For instance the KB929735 optional update should read, "Advanced Search Update for Gregorian Calendar users". Isn't it easier to decide now?

Yeah, the update details should be visible under the name in the list or when you click the update, not just under right-click -> Details.
