Rendering Japanese & Chinese on Windows Mobile 6
I got this question from one of our Evangelists in Japan, Hiroshi Ota at TechReady 6. I couldn't answer it on the spot but he sent an email shortly after to let me know he found the solution. Instead of having to install a custom ROM image that supports the language, there is a patch / fix to allow you to render japanese and even chinese fonts in Windows Mobile 6.

This thing is great! However, it just causes a few tiny problems on my HP iPAQ 214: the 'delete' button on the regular keyboard no longer functions whilst typing (in all programs); and my main navigation button at the bottom of the device in rendered useless, so I cannot use it for scrolling files, folders, through .pdfs, etc. Hope they fix the bugs =]Anonymous

Completely broke the keyboard on my T-Mobile Shadow, crippling my whole phone. Had to uninstall through Windows Mobile Device Center and force a reboot by removing the battery to return my phone to a working state.Anonymous

on the samsung epix it'll render most of your hotkeys useless. windows key, email, internet, etc. As a matter of fact the entire keyboard doesnt work. You'll be using the mouse for everything =. needless to say, i had to uninstall itAnonymous

Hey Guys, I spend the last 24 hours trying to get this to work using registry keys and fonts from Vista however I'm wasn't able to get it working. I saw the previous post about the keyboard not working so I looked around on that same website lokeuei posted. I used e-china_Diamond_no_reoladnls.cab instead. I have a Samsung Epix from AT&T running WinMo6.1 Pro (touch screen). I did notice the keyboard layout was showing a different character but the key is still working. I did restore a few of my keyboard registry though and it looks alright. I am unable to view mail in outlook that is in chinese... that is another porlbme i need to figure out but my goal was to view it in IE and file name which works. Hope it works for you guys.Anonymous

Hi there, I planning to add this to an application I am developing but I want to know the side effects, or warnings on it, I don't want to crash all the phones with my application, any updates on fixed issues or new problems discovered will be appreciated. Thanks
