Chinese New Year Shopping
The Chinese New Year festivities are picking up in Chinatown, Singapore. I was there to buy a couple of packs of Ang Pows for my wife because she's trying to introduce some foreign Chinese culture and crafting activities at her pre-school in Redmond.
The streets were packed with people doing some last minute shopping for lanterns, ang pows, chinese wallpapers and trinkets of all forms, shapes and sizes in different combinations of red and gold. I forgot how festive things can be. Took me an hour to locate a stall that sells Ang Pows for a cheap price (SGD5 for 60), I bought around 400, hope that's enough. Spent another hour looking for a cab back to the hotel.
I'm beat.
