Call for Visual FoxPro 9.0 case studies

If you visit the Microsoft Customer Evidence web site, you will find that there has been nothing new for Visual FoxPro case studies in many years. In my efforts to get more exposure for Visual FoxPro 9.0 than existed for both VFP 7.0 and VFP 8.0, we are working on receiving and publishing new case studies for great Visual FoxPro 9.0 solutions and success stories. If you or someone you know is involved in a VFP 9.0 based application that you would like to be reviewed for consideration to be highlighted on the Microsoft customer evidence web site, please contact me.

In addition to VFP 9.0 applications for possible case study publication, I'd also like to review success stories of applications using VFP (any version) combined with a Visual Studio .NET. Or it can be a case study such as the one recently posted with details of the technical secret sauce for the Jack In The Box restaurant chain. A couple of years ago, I met with the Jack In The Box IT executives to answer their technical questions in their efforts to move their widely distributed FoxPro 2.x DOS solution in their restaurants to be rewritten to run on the .NET platform using Visual Studio. Our goal is to help those companies and developers who are considering or in the process of building .NET based applications based on existing VFP applications. Half of all the VFP developers surveyed say they either using .NET already or plan to be using .NET within the next couple of years.

It would be great to see more and more VFP based applications highlighted on community web sites such as the near 100 VFP success stories on the Universal Thread VFP Zone.

Include a paragraph or two with high level details of the situation presented for the solution to solve, benefits of the solution deployed, how the application is used, and what additional products and technologies are used in the overall solution. We have one new VFP 9.0 case study near complete for June and we hope to have more posted online on a regular basis to help market VFP 9.0 as a great developer tool for building data-centric applications.
