WPC 2013 recap

Let me thank you to all of you who have came to make it very enjoyable and very social knowledge sharing event! We – Project – had you – partners - presenting in all our sessions and explaining and demoing Project Online at the booth!

Both Monday and Wednesday were kicked off with great keynotes, if you missed them I highly encourage you to watch them at https://www.digitalwpc.com/Videos/Pages/Videos.aspx, as our top leaders outline Microsoft’s vision for the future.

Project and portfolio Management Award winner was celebrated on Monday. Congratulations Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Partner of the Year Winner - UMT!

Our very own Project booth was open all day during the event with the expo area, we had two demo stations and great giveaways!

Gary L. Chefetz, a Project MVP, and president at MS Project Experts was so gracious to send us copies of their new Project book – “What’s New Microsoft Project 2013” written by him and his Project MVP colleague Dale A. Howard. If you did not have a chance to stop by and get your copy, this book along with other 2013 books can be ordered at www.msprojectexperts.com or Amazon.com (including electronic version).

 

Interactive session “Grow your business with Microsoft Project” (OFC10i) – was dedicated to all of you who would like to learn best practices from our Project and Portfolio Management Award winner – UMT and Finalists Nintex, Campana & Schott and Projility. Partners discussed their products and solutions and demonstrated best practices that help them make their partner practices first class. In the session we pointed out to important resources for partners at Partner Learning Center (especially Sales and Marketing Training and Training for IT Professionals and Developers) but also availability of Project Online demos and proof of concept tenants for partners.

Chris Crane, director of Project marketing led the breakout “Understanding the Right Choice of Project Management for Today and the Future” (OFC15) where he outline the vision and tools Microsoft offers for any business that wants or needs to manage tasks, projects and portfolios. I did a set of three short demos to demonstrate task collaboration in SharePoint Online, managing projects in Project Pro for Office 365 and managing portfolios in Project Online. Ben Chamberlain, Partner at UMT showed how to grow beyond PPM with their solutions. Recording is available here https://connect.digitalwpc.com/.

Ben Chamberlain, Partner at UMT led the expo session “PPM 2.0 - From Project Portfolio Management to Integrated Portfolio Management” where he outlined the strategies and products that help to grow beyond PPM!
