Unable to Install Forefront TMG – “A computer restart is required” warning message
Issue: Consider a scenario where you are not able to install Forefront TMG 2010 with the error message below:
Note: The problem persists even after restart the server.
Cause: this issue can be caused due a Windows Installer problem, in order to fix that review the article How to resolve Common "Windows Installer" Problems. For this particular problem the resolution was to delete the PendingFileRenameOperations from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager. After that it was possible to successfully install Forefront TMG 2010.
