Mark Arnold, Technical Design Authority, Capita IT services
Mark is an Infrastructure Architect working for Capita IT Services, part of the Capita Group of companies which provides Business Process and Technology Outsourcing, Consultancy, Training and other services to a range of customers in both the Commercial and Central/Local Government sectors.
Mark started out in IT in January 1997 on leaving the RAF, working for a number of small VAR’s before joining EDS in 2001 as a Technical Architect. There he worked on a number of projects, most notably the Abbey/EDS joint venture to process Abbey and 3rd party mortgage business. Mark left EDS in 2003 to work briefly for Siemens Communications as a consultant within the Marketing division to bring the Siemens HiPath OpenScape solution to market and enable their sales channel to recruit partner VARs with the right technical and business skills to properly design, implement and support the OpenScape offering. Mark moved on to join Capita in late 2004.
Within Capita Mark consults and advises on a range of infrastructure solutions, helping potential and existing customers to realise their goals of lower TCO and higher efficiency through the marriage of carefully planned infrastructure and business process solutions. Mark recently helped a local authority design and implement MOM and SMS, with Exchange 2003 SharePoint and BizTalk, to realise efficiency gains throughout the organisation, achieving more with less infrastructure. The local authority is now rated as “excellent” by Central Government.

Married to the lovely Katherine since 1998 they have one son, Jack, born in 2001.
