Square Off: Come as a team, or come as an individual and we’ll help individuals get together into teams.
Who should come: Game developers – professionals, students and hobbyists – who want to join a team, build a game in 24 hours, and compete for great prizes in an atmosphere of fun, collaboration, and competition.
What: Nothing fosters creativity and productivity like a competition with awesome prizes. The 2012 SIEGE Hackathon is a two day event that brings together game developers eager to find out what they can build on a deadline.
Judges include representatives from several local game dev studios.
Professional participants, take a break from your day-to-day and experiment with something new and refreshing – something that might become a seed for a future project. Plus, of course, a chance to meet the most enthusiastic and energetic young developers. Student participants will get a great chance to showcase their skills and get feedback from local professionals.

Training: Windows 8 is poised to provide the single largest developer opportunity in history. With over 650 million licenses of Windows out there today, a reimagined user experience, the new windows Store for apps, and a slew of exciting new devices and form factors, now is the time to create apps for Windows 8. Casual and serious gaming will make up a huge portion of that opportunity, and now is the time to take advantage of the launch wave of Windows 8 by learning the options for game development on Windows 8. In this session, you’ll learn about the Windows 8 platform, how to building games in HTML, C#, DirectX, and other platforms like Xamarin and Unity, and how to publish to and get the most out of the Windows Store. Plus you’ll get tons of resources for being successful with your game development ventures.

Schedule: This FREE event includes training, the chance to form a long-lasting team, and coaching to help you on your path to success! All events are at the SIEGE hotel, the Marriott NW Atlanta.
