PDA with 30gb HD, Windows Mobile 5!
I've been wanting one of these for years! It looks like it can be used as a portable media player with video capabilities. This is looking a whole lot like a UMPC device. No details on price, but I will be holding my breath -- to compete with UMPCs this puppy will have to come out in the $300-400 range. From eHomeupgrade:
PDAs have been around for a long time. Color PDAs have been on the market for a few years. It would seem that PDAs would be the perfect playground for portable audio and video, but it's only been recently that devices like these have started emerging. Well, Akihabara News has the scoop on a slick, new PDA from Tinnos that may just change the game entirely. The powerhouse PDA, which will go on sale in June in Japan, features a 1.8" 30GB hard drive and a gorgeous 4.3" TFT LCD screen.
That 30GB hard drive is enough to store up to 20 hours of video or 5000 music tracks. Approximate battery life is about 4 hours for video and 10 for audio, which is probably about average when compared to other players. Since the unit uses Windows Mobile 5.0 as it's OS, codec support is kind of bare, with WMV and DivX support on the video side and WMA and MP3 for audio. At 200g, the Tinnos should fit in your pants pocket and not cause you to sweat any more. No word on pricing or if the US will see this beauty.
