First round of Blu-ray Players will not support commercial video playback?
There has been a lot of talk this week about the first generation blu-ray drives. Apparently they will not be capable of supporting the content protection scheme which renders them incapable of playing back commercial video content (people will still be able to burn their own movies and play those back).
Sheesh, this sounds pretty bad for blu-ray. I hope that Sony axes the whole program so that we can move off from the format wars and move forward to having a standard HD format.

Yes, as best I know, first generation PC HD-DVD drives can play back HD-DVD films.Anonymous
