System Center Configuration Manager–Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 2008 Server SP1

System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2, R2 and R3 now support Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Client Installation and both the Manager Console and the Brach Distribution Point are supported on these platforms. All core and feature-specific site system role are also supported on Windows 2008 R2 SP1.

In order to fulfill the supportability the following software updates are required:

  • KB 2489044 - Update for System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 to add Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Windows 7 SP1 clients as supported platforms
  • KB 977203 - User state migration is unsuccessful on a SCCM 2007 SP1 client or on a SCCM 2007 SP2 client

With the release of Windows 7 SP1 the Windows AIK, also, got an upgrade to a new version of Windows PE 3.1. Such upgrade is optional, but if you like to keep all in line with the latest version than you can download the upgrade file @ https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=0aee2b4b-494b-4adc-b174-33bc62f02c5d.
