How to use the Windows Performance Recorder

The Windows Performance Toolkit (WPT) contains the Windows Performance Recorder (WPR) to capture detailed system and application behavior and resource usage to help engineers to analyze performance using WPA.

Here is how to install and use WPR.

To install the WPT, download the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) for Windows here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30652

During install check the Windows Performance Toolkit, like this

Start the Windows Performance Recorder (WPR) like this

Start recording like this

Repro the slow scenario, when reproduced click save like this

Save and send the .ETL together with the .NGENPDB found here
