We are very pleased to announce the release today of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 in a W1 version and 42 localized country versions. This is a significant release for the Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution, delivering on the benefits of Microsoft’s cloud strategy through vastly increased hosting capabilities as well as built-in integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM online and online Payment Service. The release also delivers new functionality and capabilities to boost business productivity, including RoleTailored Client Access for Remote and Roaming Users, Microsoft Application Virtualization Support, and enhanced business data visualization capabilities. Partners also benefit from this release with new business opportunities around Microsoft Dynamics CRM and .Net interoperability. Furthermore we have added several productivity enhancement features for partners. 

To date we have seen great attraction from partners and customers; we are excited that so far 2000 representatives from partners have participated in readiness activities and training relevant to R2. Furthermore, more than 2000 existing customers and 2000 prospective customers have participated in country launch events around the globe.

Important Information on the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics

One of the key features of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 is the integration to the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics. This feature provides integration to Microsoft Dynamics CRM both online and on premise. The new version of the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics will be available for download on Friday December 17th on its own download location on Partner Source but we will make sure to provide links to this site. Furthermore there will be a new release of the connector with support for CRM 2011 around mid-January around the time of the CRM 2010 launch.

Prepare for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 W1 Virtual Machine

We are looking forward to providing our partnersa new demo environment, which is different from what we have released before. Starting with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 W1 VM (virtual machine), we are moving to the new technology for virtual machines, namely Hyper-V. While offering you multiple advantages, the use of Hyper-V images needs preparation. This may involve the upgrade of your hardware since Hyper-V images can only run on Windows Server 2008 R2, which is a 64 bit operating system. Please read the information on this page carefully to be prepared. Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 W1 VM will be available late this year.
