.NET Framework 2.0 soon in millions of computers near you
After the launch of the .NET Framework 2.0, it became available as an optional download via Windows Update.
For ISVs and developers building commercial and shareware applications this is awesome news because it means there is a higher likelihood a customer evaluating or purchasing your software won’t have to go through the process of downloading the multi-megabyte framework and installing it.
This is in addition to the tens millions of customers who already have downloaded the .NET framework, the computers that ship with the framework installed, and other applications that a customer may have installed which also required the framework.
Happy developing on .NET!

It is also available on WSUS as on optional install, so with a few click admins can have it installed on all their corporate boxes. We just deployed on over 3000+ boxes the other day.
