24 Hour Challenge Complete
It has been a very intense 24 hours, specially for the 6 guys in the IT competition. They worked non-stop demonstrating incredible passion, creativity and skills.
If I had not seen it myself, I would not have believed what these guys accomplished in the 24 hours: setting up a complete multi-office network solution with a full range of services including directory, file, print and database servers, messaging, operations management, mobility, collaboration, internet and intranet services. At the end they had to demonstrate secure messaging, secure remote access via VPN and wireless web, sharepoint portal collaboration as well as systems and patch management. This on top of the unexpected challenges such as power outages, hacker attacks, network disconnections, stolen equipment and compromised passwords plus sleep deprivation and jet-lag.
Office and Software Design teams have been doing detailed presentations about their projects. I have heard only positive comments from judges and other attendees.

Well, it is time for me to get something to eat and cash my hotel room. Tomorrow is a cultural day to let everyone get some rest. On Sunday the first round of winners will be announced, with the event culminating on Monday at the big ceremony at the Pacifico convention center. You will hear all 'bout it here!
