Presenting on driving end user adoption for SharePoint 2010 at SharePoint Saturday Boston on 9/25

Registration is now open for SharePoint Saturday Boston. SharePoint Saturday is a free Microsoft partner led community event that will be held in the Microsoft Jones Road office in Waltham, MA on Saturday, September 25.

SharePoint Saturday features many speakers from Microsoft partners, customers and employees. The event has sessions covering 3 tracks: Developer, Administrator, and End User.

During this event, I will be presenting on driving end user adoption for SharePoint 2010. Here is a brief summary of what my session will cover:

With each release, SharePoint continues to add more functionality and new capabilities. SharePoint has become so broad and deep as a platform that many customers have challenges understanding where to start and how to be successful in implementing SharePoint as well as how to upgrade, integrate and migrate from either prior SharePoint implementations or competing products already in house. In this session, Chris Bortlik will facilitate a discussion around some of the best practices and lessons learned around rolling out SharePoint and continuing to iterate and add value. We will also discuss some of the technical and organizational blockers to SharePoint adoption and some strategies for addressing them. Chris has been with Microsoft for 2 years and spent 14 years before that as a Microsoft customer working with SharePoint since 2001 and also leading many large. NET projects. He’ll bring his real world experience as a customer to this discussion, as well as what he has learned working with enterprise customers and partners in the Northeast.

The last SharePoint Saturday Boston was extremely successful – over 300 people came out on a Saturday in February.

Hope to see you there in September!
