Where did "Select All" go in SQL Reporting Services 2005 SP1?

If you've installed SQL 2005 SP1 and use Reporting Services regularly, you've probably noticed something is absent if you utilize multi-valued parameters: namely, "Select All" no longer appears at the top of your parameter list.

In SP1, Select All was removed because it could play havoc with SQL Analysis Services performance if you queried a cube with the Select All option specified.

To work around this issue, try this link and read the "Adding an All Member to a Multivalue Parameter" section:

https://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-US/library/ms155917.aspx

A hotfix has also been created to re-enable the feature, and a public article (Q919478) is in the process of being written to document same. The article may take some time to make it to support.microsoft.com, so don't assume it will be active any time soon.

There is no "Adding an All Member to a Multivalue Parameter" where you led us.  I guess we're really not supposed to do it.

BOL was updated last week, and it looks like the topic has been modified. You an find the old one in google cache (http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:2TofjFp9jToJ:msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms155917.aspx+working+with+parameters+in+reporting+services+%22all+member%22&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=2) or in older version of BOL.

The hotfix rollup you installed does not include the fix (you need Hotfix 810). Call product support and ask for it.

Thanks for the tip but can you direct me to a download link for Hotfix 810. Is this link supposed to resolve the Select ALL issue?

You cannot download it. You must call product support and then they can package and send it to you.

    Thank you

Another option would be just to use the ReportViewer control and host it in a custom web page. The ReportViewer control that's currently in release (http://gotreportviewer.com) still has the select all option.

At the risk of sounding rude, let me be clear: The ONLY way to get this hotfix is to call product support, period. You must call with the article number (919478) and ask for the fix. That is the ONLY supported way of getting the fix.
