I understand that during the installation process, you encountered the error message: "Client license key package installed on this license server," even though it was confirmed that the old license had been removed. The new CAL key package was successfully installed after another attempt.
This could be a license server cache issue. Sometimes the license manager database caches old license information, causing conflicts when installing new licenses. Multiple refreshes and re-entries of the license key package may have helped clear this cached data.
You can also use the slmgr.vbs /dlv command to check the license status and make sure there are no duplicate license key packages.
