Export system data to a text file

To export system data to a text file
Open System Information.
On the File menu, click Export.
In Save in, click a file location.
In File name, type the file name.
Click Save.
Important
- The information that you export from System Information may contain sensitive system data. It is important to safeguard this information and prevent unauthorized access to it.
Notes
To access System Information on a remote computer, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure. For more information, see Default local groups, Default groups, and Using Run as.
To open System Information, click Start, and then click Help and Support. Under Support Tasks, click Tools, and then click Help and Support Center Tools. Click Advanced System Information, and then click View detailed system information (Msinfo32.exe).
System information is automatically refreshed before a file is saved.
