Configure multimedia devices

To configure multimedia devices

Open Device Manager.
Double-click Sound, video and game controllers.
Right-click the device that you want to configure, and then click Properties.
On the Properties tab, locate the specific device, and then double-click it.
Change the configurations for the device.

Notes

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.
To open Device Manager, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, double-click Computer Management, and then click Device Manager.
The Properties button is available only if you have drivers other than Windows Driver Model (WDM) drivers on your computer. If The Properties button appears dimmed, use the Resources tab to configure the device.
Multimedia devices can include audio or video codecs, game ports, and MIDI devices.
