Legacy DOM Properties

This section describes Document Object Model (DOM) properties supported in earlier versions of Windows Internet Explorer that are not widely supported in other browsers. Application that rely on these features should be updated to use featured based on modern standards, such as HTML5, Cascading Style Sheets, Level 3 (CSS3), and others.

behavior	Sets or retrieves how the text scrolls in the marquee.
behaviorUrns	Returns a collection of Uniform Resource Name (URN) strings identifying the behaviors attached to the element. This property is not supported for Windows Store apps using JavaScript.
direction	Sets or retrieves the direction in which the text should scroll.
dynsrc	This property is deprecated. Sets or retrieves the address of a video clip or VRML world to display in the window.
filters	Retrieves the collection of filters that have been applied to the object.
galleryImg	Obsolete. Sets or retrieves whether the My Pictures image toolbar is visible for the current image. This property is not supported for Windows Store apps using JavaScript.
loop	Sets or retrieves the number of times a marquee will play.
menuArguments	This property is not supported for Windows Store apps using JavaScript.
nameProp	Retrieves the file name specified in the href or src property of the object.
namespaces	Retrieves a collection of namespace objects.
onvisibilitychange	Sets or retrieves a value on visibility change.
opener	Sets or retrieves a reference to the window that created the current window.
plugins	Retrieves a collection of all embed objects within the document. This collection is not supported for Windows Store apps using JavaScript.
profile	Sets or retrieves one or more Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs) in which the object properties and legal values for those properties are defined.
protocol	Sets or retrieves the protocol portion of a URL.
recordNumber	Retrieves the ordinal record from the data set that generated the object.
recordset	Sets or retrieves from a data source object a reference to the default record set.
returnValue	Sets or gets the value returned from the modal dialog window. This property is not supported for Windows Store apps using JavaScript.
saveType	Retrieves the clipboard type when oncontentsave fires.
scopeName	Gets the namespace defined for the element. This property is not supported for Windows Store apps using JavaScript.
scrollAmount	Sets or retrieves the number of pixels the text scrolls between each subsequent drawing of the marquee.
scrollbar	Sets or retrieves whether to show the scrollbar.
scrollDelay	Sets or retrieves the speed of the marquee scroll.
selectableContent	Sets or retrieves whether selectable content is valid.
trueSpeed	Sets or retrieves whether the position of the marquee is calculated using the scrollDelay and scrollAmount properties and the actual time elapsed from the last clock tick.
UNSELECTABLE	Specifies that an element cannot be selected.
version	Retrieves a string representing the version in the format "N.nnnn platform", where N is an integer representing the major version number, nnnn is a number of characters representing the minor version number, and platform is the platform (win32, mac, alpha, and so on).
viewLinkContent	Declares the element behavior as a document fragment.
visibility	Retrieves whether content is visible.
