Wireless Network Client Configuration (Windows CE 5.0)

Send Feedback

Automatic wireless network configuration supports the IEEE 802.11 standard for wireless networks and minimizes the configuration required to access wireless networks.

Enabling automatic wireless network configuration allows a device to roam across different wireless networks without the need to reconfigure network connection settings for each location.

As a Microsoft® Windows® CE-based device moves from one location to another, automatic wireless network configuration searches for available wireless networks and notifies the device when there are new wireless networks available to which it can connect.

Once the wireless network is selected, an automatic wireless network configuration updates the wireless network adapter to match the settings of that wireless network, and then attempts to connect to that wireless network.
