Entering Criteria in Filters

When you enter criteria, you can use all the numbers and letters that you can normally use in the field. In addition, you can use special symbols to further filter the results.

Important

Filtering using the Quick Filter works a bit differently than using the Advanced Filter. The Quick Filter criteria is by default always case insensitive and a * is added to the end of a search criteria. This means that using the Quick Filter, a search criteria defined as Gab will return records containing Gab, gab, Gabriella, etc. If you want to use the Quick Filter for an exact match, enter the search expression in single quotation marks. For example, in the CRONUS International company, on the Customer page, enter a Quick Filter on the Name field as '@se', which will return the records Selangorian, Meersen, Slubrevik Senger, Beef House, and Hotel Pferdesee. If you enter '*se' only the record Beef House will be returned.
