/User <user> [pass | *]

Specifies the credentials to use to run the command. You must specify a user name that has the required CSS administrator or operator rights on the server where the command will be executed. If you omit the user name, the user name of the person who enters the command is used.

If you omit the password or enter an asterisk, CSS prompts you for the password. The password you enter is not displayed on the screen.

Remarks

You must have CSS administrator or operator rights to execute this command.

This command is only valid if you have previously enabled the WaitApply flag for the project on the destination server. The WaitApply flag is set by using the EditProj command.

You use the timed release option when you want content to be available to all users at a specific time, regardless of time zone. By using timed release, content is deployed from the staging source server but is unavailable on the destination servers until a time that you specify. This time is known as the apply time. Enable timed release is set on endpoint servers only and is used together with the Apply option on the staging server.
