I have been a gold member of Xbox Live for some time… it shows a 7 on my profile. I am disappointed about the price increase but I was happy to see that MS was going to offer me a special deal because I am a loyal customer. Apparently, I can sign up for Xbox Live for $39.00 for the next year. I do have a question about the offer. Is the $39.00 price for me and others like me that have multiple years of gold membership on Xbox Live or is this deal available to EVERYONE that is currently a gold member on Xbox Live? If the deal is available to everyone on Xbox Live regardless of the number of years on the service, then I have another question. Is there any benefit or reward from MS for multiple years of being a gold member of Xbox Live? (game discounts, timed exclusives, DLC discounts, free games) Thank youAnonymous

I guess it is silly to post a question on an official MS Xbox site and expect a response so I had to look up the answers to my questions myself. If I got the answers wrong, maybe someone from MS will take the time to post a correction
- The “special offer” I was given is available to everyone regardless of the number of years as a gold member on the Xbox Live service.
- There is absolutely no benefit whatsoever from MS for being a multiyear gold member on Xbox Live. A person with seven years of Gold membership is treated exactly the same as someone who signed up for the gold membership today. In regards to number 2, the folks that work in the gold membership retention department must be really proud about that one. Heck not even a gamer picture, article of avatar clothing or avatar item is being offered to entice a member to keep a gold membership.

Xbox Gamer, I understand your frustration. I was trying to get some more official communication but ... At this point, there is no additional benefit provided to long-term Xbox LIVE Gold members but that could change. You can lock in your current membership at $39 for the next year as you noted. I know, not the best of news.Anonymous
