Form Controls are no longer supported outside of Microsoft Office

After installing the March 2015 updates for Office 2007, Office 2010 or Office 2013, form controls (fm20.dll) are no longer available for use in Internet Explorer or custom compiled applications that obey IE security settings regarding ActiveX control trust.

You may see errors in the custom applications or that the controls do not load in the web application as expected.

This is expected behavior as the fm20.dll is an Office component which was not redistributable nor recommended or supported for use in non-Office applications. The controls were designed, tested and provided for use exclusively within Microsoft Office and it's Visual Basic for Applications environment.

Due to a vulnerability with the controls, the controls were kill-bitted and an alternate CLSID will not be developed for use outside of Office. Developers are encouraged to look for alternate controls supported for use in their particular environment as a replacement.
