What about just plain site functionality? I have been trying 4 days to download from MSDN subscription site, but delivery is incredibly slow and never makes it more than 40% then "download was interrupted" and resume really means start over. Is there something wrong with the site, or do I need to be looking to my ISP (Cox)? I tend to not think it is Cox because I am not having this kind of issue with other sites and speed test is never less than 22Mbps.Anonymous

Follow up comment from yesterday. I have been troubleshooting this issue all day. It is not just Microsoft sites affected. Looks like MSDN and TechNet are affected, but Microsoft.Com is not. For what it's worth, I see the same issue on Red Hat sites. After running traces and trying to talk with Cox Communications, the best I can determine is it looks as if the problem has to do with some routers in Chicago along the backbone. I'm not sure what is wrong, but long downloads will never complete and though they may start off fast, they eventually crawl to a halt and die. That's IF I go over the Cox network, from multiple machines, from Wichita, KS and from OKC. If I use other resources at my disposal from those same locations and same computers on the same internal networks, but routed over Level 3 Communications or NuVox Communications, the files transfer fine. That pretty much rules out Akaimi, Microsoft and Red Hat, but I can't get the Cox tech support gate keepers to let me talk to someone who would even understand what I'm saying, let alone look into it. Maybe some there is watching this board and would be interested in restoring download functionality to folks in the Midwest. As near as I can tell from my tests, this is probably affecting all Cox customers in at least Kansas and Oklahoma. I have trace routes if anyone wants to help. cjgray@live.com
