SQL Server 2000 Support Ending

Almost 13 years after it was released on 30th November 2000, SQL Server 2000 will be coming out of extended support from the 9th of April 2013 (next week). This means that SQL Server 2000 will no longer be supported by Microsoft. To find out more about the Microsoft Support Lifecycle refer to here.

What are Your Options?

 If you are still running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 your options are:

  • Upgrade to a supported versions of SQL Server – recommendation would be to move to SQL Server 2012. To assist with this you can utilize the Upgrade Advisor tool available here.
