Explorer and IE changing toolbar layout

THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!

Every few hours of using my computer, my Explorer Shell inherits the layout of my IE toolbars. This is NOT WHAT I WANT. I manually move them back the way they are supposed to be, then lock toolbars and then all of a sudden the Explorer Shell Toolbar layout is back to being the same as IE.

Does anyone have a fix for this? RegKey? Does Windows XP hate me?

Hehheh. I had same thoughts years ago, then I just gave up doing any extra layouting, conforming to the default. Currently I only change few settings like enable status bar and force every folder to use detailed view. I hope the detail view will come default on LH for the non-my documents folders atleast as it's just not cool to view large directories in thumbnails etc space-wasting views.

You actually brought me to think of a great idea for Longhorn.

Why not make some "profile setting", that would allow this scenario:

Suppose you visit a friend or whoever, he is using either the default settings or has customized his own. Now he wants you to help with something or whatever which requires you to use his computer but doing such accessing that creating new account isn't needed or he wants you to do something under his account under supervision (or maybe he trusts you :)).

So now you have a minor "problem" (Big problem for a power user like me). (S)he has a customized or some very annoying default setup (designed for newbies naturally). You want a "power user setting profile", now there should be some place you can select a temporary profile to be used without changing your friends own settings, you are only visiting remember.. There would be several setting profile schemes to choose from. Currently when i visit a friend to do some malware removal and whatever, I have to change ton of folder options and toolbars and whatever to get the XP's file explorer interface suited to my usage.
