The Distributed Library Project
"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
How many books do you have that you haven't touched in the last [insert double-digit
number] months? Exactly!
These clever kids have implemented an idea I was toying with last year: a distributed
library.
The name for their project: Distributed
Library Project [I said they were clever].
There are many sites set up around cities. See if yours is listed: https://dlpdev.theps.net/ListOfExistingDlpNodes?v=dpg
[I need to write one in .NET for Seattle or I’ll feel like a complete sell-out.]
Go on their site, type in the ISBN numbers for your book collection. They get the
details through Amazon. Search people that are nearby or have similar interests/book
collections. Coordinate book swapping. Rate people on how 'nicely' they traded.
Great idea. The source code is available,
too.
