Cranking on PDC content
Sorry I’ve been MIA from my blog for a while. I’ve been cranking on getting Beta 2 locked down and scrubbing my PDC content.
I'm giving the Building Custom Controls in WPF talk at the PDC this year. (WPF = Windows Presentation Foundation = the set of functionality formally known as Avalon).
I've stayed up late tonight getting my demos together. I'm having a blast. It's been tough getting to my slides together because I'm having so much fun coding.
I think I've settled on a great set of messages around control authoring. And (more importantly) a good set of concepts and demos to communicate the right way to build controls in WPF.
I have lots of cool stuff to share (controls, panels, applications), but it's all built with the PDC bits (not Beta1). I'll make sure to post all of it on my blog once the PDC build of WinFX is public.
Are you coming to the PDC? Come to my talk...or stop me in the hall and let me know what you're building. It's been really fun seeing my co-horts in WPF pull their content together. Namita will walk you through the power of data in WPF. Robby will show you the flexibility of styling.
What do you want to learn about building control in WPF? Drop me a line and I’ll see what I can work into my talk.
PS: Did you know VS supports type-ahead find? Ctrl-I in the editor. Thanks for the tip, Chris.
