EOS: Windows 2000, Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista RTM

As announced in 2008, support for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Windows 2000 will end on July 13, 2010 while support for Windows Vista Release to Manufacturing (RTM) will end on April 13, 2010. To help ensure your Windows Vista PCs stay secure and up to date, make sure they are running Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Service Pack 2 (SP2). If you are running Windows XP, stay more secure by moving to Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), or migrating to Windows 7. If you are running Windows 2000, it's recommended that you move to Windows 7 as Windows 2000 operating system won't be offered additional support or updates. For users of Windows 2000 Server, stay secure by migrating to Windows 2008 R2.
Updating your Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista-based PCs before the end of mainstream support dates will ensure that your PCs and servers stay supported and receive security updates. Migrating to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 provides the longest support lifecycle for you and your organization, helping to ensure protection, support, and timely updates. What are the available options?

For Windows XP, there are two upgrade options: either the latest Service Pack, SP3, or a more recent supported version of the OS, such as Windows 7.

Similarly you can upgrade Windows Vista to Service Pack 2, or to Windows 7. In the case of Windows 2000 your best option is to upgrade to Windows 7.
