DePaul Student Games – AceWall Studios

I have been working with a number of students at DePaul on games using the Scirra’s Construct 2 HTML Game tools.  The nice thing about Construct 2 is that you can target both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.  In any case, Dillon, a DePaul University Chicago student, came to an event we had on 7/26.  I meet Dillon at a past event and Dillon has been working to build engaging games.  Dillon’s company, AceWall, was founded for these games and other games he is working on.

Dillon built two games are part of the event and during part of weekend.

Dillon used the Construct 2 Ad pluggin from my colleague, Ryan Joy.  You can find Ryan blog post on the pluggin at this URL https://ryanjoy.com/2013/05/introducing-a-windows-store-advertising-plugin-for-scirra-construct-2/.  This means Ryan can make some money from the ads in his games.

Dillon built two cool free games you should check them out:

  1. Crab Grab - https://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/crab-grab/9c24b12e-a10f-403a-9ac0-d7ed6999bf43 – in this Windows 8 game you are trying to eat as many pieces of algae as you can before time runs out.
  2. Run, Circle, Run - https://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/run-circle-run/ce29d548-b0a2-43da-ab68-d595809673ce – in this Windows 8 game you’re an circle running from a menacing arrow.  Dillon has some nice features like power ups and as time goes on the arrow gets faster so the challenge increases.  Good thing for the power ups to give you a fair chance.

Honesty I can’t wait to see what Dillon comes up with next.  Nice work, Dillon.
