Learn to build Kinect apps for the Windows Store

As we discussed in a recent blog, the Kinect v2 sensor and SDK 2.0 enables developers to create Kinect-powered Windows Store apps, opening up an entirely new market for your Kinect for Windows applications. Now on GitHub you can find the Kinect 2 Hands on Labs, a tutorial series that teaches you, step by step, how to build a Windows Store 8.1 app that uses almost every feature of the new sensor.

The lab is a complete introduction, covering everything from setting up the Kinect sensor to utilizing its major features. Included are hands-on lessons about using the infrared, color, and depth data; creating a body mask; displaying body data; removing backgrounds; using the face library; creating hand cursor interactions; employing Kinect Studio; building gestures; adding speech recognition; and tracking multiple users.
